Textured wallpaper and textile wallcoverings: look and material
Texture can be part of the visual design, the physical surface or both. A linen-look photograph and a textile wallcovering are not automatically the same material. Compare what you see with the product’s documented composition.
Look closely at what creates the texture
A printed weave can give a wall the appearance of fabric without establishing that its surface is woven textile. An embossed or raised surface creates a different effect again. Ask for the manufacturer’s material description for the exact product code.
View the product near the wall colour and lighting you intend to use. A room scene helps communicate atmosphere, while a closer product view or an available sample helps you understand the finish. Neither a collection name nor a styling photograph replaces the technical description.
Explore calmer and more expressive finishes
Calm Crafted provides supplier images of textured interiors and wallpaper combinations. The broader catalogue library also lets you compare quiet backgrounds with classic ornament, modern patterns and florals.
When you find a reference you like, keep the collection and product code rather than describing it only as fabric wallpaper. A clear reference helps the team distinguish the visual effect you want from the exact material being offered.
Check the installation and care requirements
Ask about the surface material, backing, pattern repeat and manufacturer’s fitting instructions. A non-woven backing, for example, does not on its own tell you everything about the decorative face of a wallcovering. The selected product determines the relevant fitting method.
Cleaning instructions, room suitability and any performance claim should come from the product’s documentation. Do not assume every textured or textile-looking wallpaper can be cleaned in the same way. Describe the room’s use and practical conditions before choosing.
Make the enquiry specific
Send a product reference or a photograph of the effect you want, along with the room and wall measurements. Ask the showroom to identify the material and confirm current options, availability and lead time. Actual textile or fabric wallcovering availability should be checked individually.
Al Sarraf’s prices always include installation. Confirm the selected design, colour, quantity and preparation requirements before ordering, so the appearance and practical details are part of the same conversation.
Material references
Manufacturer information explains the examples discussed. Ask our showroom to confirm the specific brands, materials and options currently offered.
